If you feel stuck, we’ve got your back. Here are some ideas for Snapchat story name ideas to get the creative juices flowing.

What Is a Private Story on Snapchat?

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Snapchat story layout, you have three options:

  • Snaps on Snap Map: These are public stories that anyone can see. It’s about showcasing what’s happening around you, whether that’s a special location or event. For example, something like Times Square during New Year’s Eve will have a Snap Map you can submit your social media content to. There’s no guarantee when or if your snap will get added. All you have to do to post this is create a snap, and select “Snap Map,” which you’ll find at the top of the “Send To” screen. Snaps you send to Snap Map may even leave the Snapchat app. For example, if you’re at a sporting event, your snap could end up on the jumbotron. It could also be up for longer than 24 hours. Make sure your snap is something you’d be okay with everyone in the public seeing!
  • Personal Snapchat Stories: Your usual public story can be found by your friends and followers. If you have your personal stories set to public, people that don’t follow you can find your story on Snapchat Discover.
  • Private Story on Snapchat: When you create a private story, you decide who gets to see them. You select which friends have access. You know they’re private when they have a padlock symbol next to them. If someone has access to your private story, it will sometimes intertwine with your public story and will be viewed as one continuous story. Sometimes on Android devices, Snapchat will separate the two.

Now that you’ve got a handle on which stories are which, here are some great names to use for your private story!
