How to Manifest Your Dreams

manifest your dreams

The law of attraction can drastically impact your life. It simply states that whatever you focus on will come to you; if you focus on failure, you’ll constantly find yourself in the midst of struggle.

But if you focus on the dreams and aspirations that keep you awake at night, you’ll find yourself growing closer and closer to those goals. By using the law of attraction, you have the power to manifest your dreams and unlock new possibilities for the future.

But how does it work? How can a focus on positive energy bring you success? We’re going to unpack the concept and give you ways to focus on the future you want, rather than the hurdles that might stand in your way.

The Law of Attraction

Simply put, the law of attraction states that whatever you focus your energy on, you will attract.

One tangible example of this principle can be seen in your friend group. Look at the people you are closest to: the people you choose to let into your life. Do you choose people who match your energy?

If you are upbeat, excited, and open to new possibilities, you’ll probably attract people who also feel this way. That’s because you have compatible outlooks; if you’re both willing to try new things, you’re more likely to go out spontaneously together. You’ll both feed off each other’s energy.

If you are more reserved and quiet, you’ll probably attract similar people. Your muted energy levels work well together, because you both would rather have a quiet night in than a night out on the town.

So think about what you want: do you want to be someone who makes last minute plans for adventures, takes risks, and tries to get the most out of life? Focus on that energy, and you’ll find your people.

If you’d rather have a group of people to hang with that will keep things chill and thoughtful, focus on that energy instead. You’ll find people to have book clubs and share a coffee with.

However, you have to be careful; because like energy attracts like energy, the people around you will deepen that energy you already exhibit. So if you are spontaneous, your collective spontaneity will increase, and if you’d rather stay in, you and your group of friends may never go out and try something new.

This same concept can be applied to your aspirations. Focus on what will fulfill you, and you’ll spend your energy making it happen. Focus on setbacks, and you’ll wonder why your dreams never get off the ground.

Tips to Manifest Your Dreams

Just focusing on your goals is not enough to make your dreams come true. That focus will give you the energy and drive to do the hard work that pulls you closer to those dreams.

Here are some ways you can use the law of attraction to manifest the life you’ve been dreaming of.

Meditating

Meditation is an extremely powerful tool you can use to unlock a sense of empowerment and control over your life.

Taking the time to unwind, focus on your breathing, and concentrate on your goals will help keep you centered when the chaos of life tries to uproot you. Mediation is an investment: it takes time to develop the skills needed to truly let your mind rest and focus.

Here are some tips on how to get started on your meditation journey:

  • Download Insight Timer. Insight Timer is an app available on Android and Apple that offers thousands of free (yes, we said free) audio meditations for you to try. You can narrow down your selections by factors such as length, sex of the speaker, and type of meditation so you can find exactly what you need.
  • Try different types. There are more varieties of meditation audio files than you can imagine. Some are guided exercises where the voice speaks the whole time to help you visualize, and some let you focus on the quiet of the space and only give a bit of instruction. It will take some time for you to find the type that works for you.
  • Try different activities while meditating. For some people, laying down in a comfortable position is the perfect way to meditate. For others, it’s just a nap waiting to happen. If you’re afraid you’re going to fall asleep, or you’re afraid you’ll think too much, try meditating while doing yoga or on a nature walk.

Journaling

If you’re feeling unsure of how to reach your goals, taking the time to write down your thoughts can be an extremely helpful way to process. Whether you’re trying to figure out what your vision statement should be or you’re trying to determine your dream job, writing can help you find your answer.

When writing, you don’t need to make paragraphs.

Get creative.

Make flowcharts, use brainstorming techniques, draw your feelings, do word associations: anything to get your thoughts flowing. Seeing your thoughts physically drawn out on paper can help you view things from a new perspective.

You can organize yourself, see what is important, or take note of something that was in the back of your mind that you never paid much mind to.

Even just taking 5 minutes to dwell with your thoughts through the pen can make a big difference.

Planning

You can’t make it to a brand new destination without a roadmap.

Once you’ve journaled, organize those thoughts into manageable steps. Make sure to break up the workload so no one task seems too overwhelming.

Taking time to outline your goals and give yourself action steps to get there will determine your milestones. These milestones are a way to chart your progress and stay focused on moving closer to your goals. If you’re someone who needs a visual, try creating a vision board!

When you check something off the list, celebrate! Give yourself credit for all the hard work you’re doing. Each step is important, because they all add up to something amazing.

Connecting

No woman is an island. It’s nearly impossible to achieve your dreams without help from other people.

What parts of your goals require expertise that you don’t have yet? Outline where you need help on your path to success.

Then figure out what could help you the most; are you in need of a mentor to help you grow, or could you use your energy and talents elsewhere by hiring a contractor?

Use the network you have at your disposal. Does your sister-in-law know a thing or two about marketing? Does your college roommate know someone in the business sector? Or does someone in your book club know how to build a website?

When asking for mentorship or assistance, think about the value you can offer them in exchange. Can you trade photography services for business coaching?

Can you offer babysitting if they can help market your product? Using your skills, or your finances, to help them help you will give you stronger connections in the community while adding value to both of your lives.
