Tips On Throwing A Virtual Company Holiday Party

Virtual Holiday Party

So 2020 may not have been the best year for all of us but that doesn’t mean your company’s holiday party has to be canceled. Virtually, many businesses this year will be throwing their holiday gatherings over a video conference meeting so if that’s your business, here are some tips on throwing a virtual company Christmas party.

Have A Theme

When it comes to throwing a virtual holiday party, it’s a good idea to have a theme. It can be fun to dress up and to enjoy the laughter and jokes that will likely come from any fancy dress options that people have picked.

It doesn’t need to be a costume. It could be that the theme of the party has a certain style or direction to it like ‘everyone has to wear red’ or they need to design their own background/backdrop to their video. Themes are a great way to add something a little extra to the party and to get people talking. Y

You might even want to create multiple chatrooms or even use a platform that can create a virtual 3D space for you to walk around and interact with others on a one-to-one basis. Make sure that this is a theme that is going to be comfortable for most people to do.

Provide Employees With Food Or/And Drink

When it comes to a virtual company holiday party, you might want to see if you can arrange to supply each employee with a drink or food. This might be expensive if you’ve got lots of employees but if you’ve only got a handful, why not do it as an extra treat. It will most likely put a smile on their faces and can be a nice bonus for the year that they’ve had. It can save them from having to go out and buy the drinks themselves. And giving your employees a little surprise or treat is definitely something they’ll appreciate.

Bring In Some Entertainment

Entertainment can be a surprise for those who don’t know about it. You could have someone singing or perhaps even have a virtual zoom magician to help start off the party. It’s a good way of providing some fun to the call, rather than making it one where you talk and then awkwardly try and converse with others. It can also be an alternative to the holiday party video call, where they simply watch some entertainment and interact via a group chat.

Organize A Secret Santa

A secret Santa can be a great way of sharing the love and giving every one of your employees a treat. This is something you’ll want to organize beforehand and then make sure everyone has their gift, you can then open them all on the call itself. It’s a good way of making sure that everyone gets a treat that they can open up and enjoy.

Throwing a virtual Christmas party isn’t going to be quite like the one you may have normally but it can still be a good way to end the year!
