5 Event Features Not To Forget When You’re Planning A Work Function

When the time comes for you to plan a work event, you can feel a mix of emotions. On the one hand, it’s exciting, and you know that you’re going to have a great time when the work is done. But, on the other hand, it’s also going to be a lot of work! Events can cost, but what you get in return is always worth it. When you’ve got happy stakeholders, and you’re making a bit of money, you know that the fruits of your labor are what matters the most. So, get planning. But make sure that you don’t forget some of these key features.

Decorations

This could sound a little obvious, but it’s often something that can easily get overlooked. When you’ve rented a space such as Goya Studios, it’s easy to think that’s the job done. But you’re going to want to work with the venue providers to find out what they provide. Sometimes, they can cover off the decor for you, but don’t always just assume that that’s the case. You may need to do it yourself. So to make sure the space looks how you’ve imaged in, make sure you confirm.

Background Music

You’re also going to want to make sure that you have all of the music choices covered off. It’s likely that you’re going to have your entertainment sorted, whether you have a band or a DJ, but you’re going to need to put on more than that. Remember that you have things like guest arrival and the in-between agenda sections that you may not want to be silent. So you’re going to need to pick out some appropriate background music for this purpose.

Back Of House Staff

When it comes to event staff, you probably have a lot of people that you need to procure. Knowing that you need waiting staff and servers along with a bartender is often easy to figure out, but sometimes you need more. Not only do you need front of house staff, but you need people to cover off the behind the scenes stuff too. You’re going to need staff to clear things away and make sure that the background is organized, remember that.

Transport

You may also want to think about putting on transport. Depending on the kind of event that you’re running and where it is, your guests may need a way of getting to and from the venue. If you’re not going to put on transport, then you should have details of local transport links and cab companies for your guests in case they wish to use them.

Goodie Bags

And of course, every killer event need a cool goodie bag to go along with it. Gift bags can be a great incentive to your attendees, but you’re going to want to make them fun and interesting. They could even be delivered to your guests’ offices or homes after the event as a kind of thank you for attending gift that they’ll love.
